Bastion Ship

From Citadel Wiki
Early accessCitadel is still in development. Numbers and rules on this page can change between patches. Last checked October 2026.

A Bastion Ship is a faction's stronghold: a boss hull that holds one place for its faction. Ganden raises a Spear of Amnion and TZHAL raises a Shield of Amnion. When one goes up, every pilot in the breach sees the announcement: "Bastion Ship: Spear of Amnion / Deployed by Ganden".

Faction Hull Where Tier
Ganden Spear of Amnion Ganden Cathedral Arcs, Cloud Wake Stratum 1
TZHAL Shield of Amnion TZHAL Cathedral Arcs, The Gallows Stratum 1

It fights like the boss it is built on, with the same mounts, guns, escorts and EMP nova. Stratum 1 leaves its hull and armor at their base values, cuts its turret damage to 75% and raises its signature by 40%.

When it stands

  • It is raised once per tide, a tide being 30 minutes, whenever its place is empty.
  • It stays until it is destroyed, across tides.
  • Once destroyed, it stays down for the rest of that tide.
  • It holds its position. It does not patrol and cannot be pushed.
  • A marker shows where it is for as long as it stands.

The war cycle

Each tide builds to a climax. Twelve minutes in, every rival faction in the breach is sent against the standing Bastion Ship. Ganden and TZHAL are each other's rival.

A pilot of the rival faction who destroys one of its mounts before then brings the climax forward at once. Its own members, and pilots of neither faction, do not.

Who it shoots

  • It wakes without being fired on when a hostile ship that is not cloaked comes within 1,200, and looks for targets out to 4,000.
  • Pilots of the rival faction are attacked on sight.
  • A member of its own faction beside it is safe. A member who fires on it is treated like one who fires on a friendly patrol: the Bastion Ship and its escorts shoot back.
  • It attacks hostile NPC factions on sight and returns fire at neutral ones that hit it.
  • Tab does not select the mounts of your own faction's Bastion Ship. Clicking one still does.

When it falls

War tension is recorded against the killer's faction. The wreck belongs to the Bastion Ship's faction, and looting a faction's wreck provokes that faction.

Merits

Only Ganden and TZHAL members score. See Merits.

  • Destroying the rival's. The pot is 60% of the Bastion Ship's build rating. The pilot who lands the final blow takes 20% of it first. The rest is shared by contribution, with damage dealt counting double and repairs to allies who dealt damage counting once.
  • Damaging your own. You lose 2 Merits for every point of damage.
  • Killing its escorts pays nothing.
